UV coating, (ultraviolet coating) is a clear liquid compound that’s applied to a printed surface, then instantly dried by ultraviolet light. When applied to a printed surface, printing will be protected from scuffing and scratches while colours will reflect light, enhancing the appearance.

UV coating can also be applied in specific sections of a printed design, which is referred to as Spot UV coating.
